BOK
BOK has six digits and blocks after five consecutive incorrect entries. Newer cards issued after 21 June 2021 can use PUK in eID client PIN management; otherwise visit a Police document department.
KEP PIN
KEP PIN has six digits and authorises signing. It blocks after three incorrect entries. The counter is stored on the card and is not reset by removing the card or restarting the computer.
KEP PUK
KEP PUK has eight digits and unblocks KEP PIN. It blocks after ten incorrect entries, after which the signing keys can no longer be used and new keys and certificate are required.
Safe practice
Stop after the first unexpected failure and check which code is requested. Never send BOK, KEP PIN or PUK to support.
